Here is my review about Wall-E movie. This movie tellsabout theadventures ofa robot named Wall-E, who designed to clean up the junk in the earth. This animation movie taking place in the far future where human beings don't live in the earth anymore, but in a gigantic spaceship because earth is already covered in garbage. One day, a spaceship lands in the earth where Wall-E lived, and things change when another robot called EVE show up from that spaceship and the story about saving humankind and find a lasting
friendship begin.
In this review, my concern of this movie is about technology that show up in this adorable movie and about a possible future behavior of humans. The technology in this movie is really fascinating, There are robots serve the humans, and then human lie on
air chairs and if you have everything that you need, just communicate with the monitor machine, we could see artificial intelligence concept in this movie.
The machines in this movie are initially there to help humans with their work and activity. The negative sides are, humans growing hugely fat and lazy to moving, they live a life of idleness and luxury. Humans slowly move away from nature, sport activity and social life(in this case, they hardly, really hardly interact face to face with the others, they interact via monitor). They really depend on the machine instead of calling a friend if they need help, the dependence on machines grows to an extent that machines become indispensable. Well, we could see that it's not us who controlling the machine anymore, but we are being controlled by it.
After watching Wall-E, beside the story about love, friendship etc ,I hope that everyone will think about future, will we become like human beings in this movie? being controlled by machine? The points is we can change our ways for brighter future no matter what the circumstances are. Develope new technology and use it, but make sure that you're not being consumed by it :)

Video di atas merupakan video yang dibuat oleh Metro Group (Future Store Initiative). Video ini menggambarkan bagaimana supermarket di masa depan nantinya yang sudah memakai teknologi canggih. Teknologi tersebut menerapkan sistem yang dapat menghitung banyaknya barang dan biaya belanjaan di supermarket secara otomatis. Kemudian alat bantu elektronik yang ada di rumah kita seperti mesin cuci dan kulkas dilengkapi dengan sistem yang memberitahukan kita informasi/peringatan mengenai mesin tersebut (di video ini membahas teknologi di mesin cuci yang memberi peringatan mengenai baju yang sebaiknya dipisah) dan stok bahan makanan yang sudah mau habis (kulkas).
This is a video made by Metro Group ( Future Store Initiative). This video illustrates how a supermarket in the future will use the advanced technology. The technology is implementing a system which can count the number of items and the total cost of groceries in the supermarket automatically. Then we could see a washing machines and refrigerators were equipped with a system that will show us an information or warnings on the machine itself (this video shows the technology in the washing machine which gives a warning about the clothes that should be separated from the other clothes ) and a food in refrigerator which are running out of stock .

Smart Fridge Signals: mendeteksi bahan makanan apa yang kurang dari kulkas.
Smart Washing Machine : mendeteksi bahan dan warna pakaian kita sehingga mencegah kesalahan yang biasa terjadi saat menggunakan mesin cuci, salah satunya adalah warna luntur.
Future Card : menunjukkan identitas dari pembeli.
Personal Shopping Assistant (PSA): komputer user-friendly pada trolly belanja kitaSetelah mengidentifikasi ID kita melalui future card, akan menampilkan berbagai informasi salah satunya adalah apa yang konsumen tersebut butuhkan dari pendataan yang sudah ada.
Smart Trolley: mengetahui apa saja yang ada di trolly.
Smart Shelves: Ruang penyimpanan yang terkoneksi dengan rak barang di supermarket sehingga ketika ada barang yang sudah/mau habis, bisa langsung diketahui oleh petugas melalui Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) dan petugas langsung menambahkan stok barang ke rak tersebut.
Smart Information Terminal: memberikan informasi tentang produk di supermarket tersebut seperti harga, rincian tentang proses pembuatan, bahan, letak produk, dll.
Advertising Display: pengiklanan produk pada layar komputer yang dipasang di rak barang.
Intelligent Scales: memudahkan pendataan dalam menimbang dan lebih akurat.
Smart Dressing Room: memudahkan pemilihan baju ,tidak perlu mencoba langsung pakaian yang akan dibeli, tetapi diberi gambaran di layar yang mendeteksi tubuh kita.
Smart Mirror: sama seperti smart dressing room, memudahkan saat pemakaian produk make-up, tidak perlu mencoba langsung.
Future Check-out: barang beserta harga langsung terdata karena ada koneksi antara mesin kasir dan Smart Trolley.

Smart Shelves: Storage is connected with the products shelves on supermarket, so, when there are items/product which is already run out / want to run out, the officer will know that through the Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) and the officers can add the stock of the product.
Smart Information Terminal: provide information about the products in the supermarket such as price, details about the manufacturing process, material, product layout, etc..
Display advertising: advertising the product on a computer screen on the shelves.
Intelligent Scales: accurate weighing.
Smart Dressing Room: customers don't need to try the clothes directly, but given the picture on the screen that detects body and matching the clothes with their bodies.
Smart Mirror: same as smart dressing room, no need to try the make up products.
Future Check-out: goods and pricing directly recorded because there is a connection between the cash register and Smart Trolley.
Teknologi yang digunakan di future store ini adalah Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). RFID bergantung pada transmisi data nirkabel melalui medan elektromagnetik. Pusat dari perangkat ini dinamakan RFID tag: sebuah label identifikasi berisi chip yang dapat diprogram. RFID tag bisa dibaca dengan sebuah reader yang dikendalikan komputer tanpa harus membutuhkan direct line-of-sight seperti halnya pembaca barcode. Jangkauan reader ini bisa mencapai satu meter. Tenaga chip terintegrasi ini dipasok melalui medan frekuensi radio yang dipancarkan oleh reader, sehingga RFID tidak membutuhkan sumber tenaga yang terpisah. Metro telah menerapkan pelabelan RFID, yang meski tidak mendetail, tetap dapat mendukung proses pengawasan dan manajemen inventori.
The technology used in this future store is called Radio Frequency Identification (RFID).Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is the wireless non-contact use of radio-frequency electromagnetic fields to transfer data, for the purposes of automatically identifying and tracking tags attached to objects. The tags contain electronically stored information. Some tags are powered by and read at short ranges (a few meters) via magnetic fields (electromagnetic induction). Unlike a bar code, the tag does not necessarily need to be within line of sight of the reader, and may be embedded in the tracked object. Metro has implemented RFID technology, although not very detailed , it can support the process of tracking and inventory management.
Dengan adanya teknologi yang seperti ini, tentunya akan sangat memberikan kemudahan pada perusahaan supermarket dan juga kepada konsumennya. Salah satunya adalah kemudahan dalam proses transaksi pembayaran, konsumen tidak perlu lama mengantri karena total biaya dari barang yang dibeli cepat dan mudah didata, para konsumen juga tidak perlu mengeluarkan barang satu persatu untuk proses barcode scanning. Pendataan barang pada supermarket pun menjadi lebih mudah dan terkendali dari tindak kriminal seperti pencurian barang di supermarket. Dengan penerapan teknologi ini kedepannya, diharapkan bisa meningkatkan kepercayaan dan kenyamanan dari pelanggan dan memudahkan perusahaan supermarket yang ada. Semoga kelak teknologi ini bisa diterapkan di Indonesia :)
With this technology, of course it will help company's supermarkets and their customers. Case example: payment transactions process, consumers no longer need to queue because the total cost of their groceries is quickly and easily recorded, and also, consumers no need to take out the items from their trolley one by one for barcode scanning process. Documenting process at the supermarket becomes easier and restrained from criminal acts such as a theft in supermarket. With this technology in the future, I hope it will increase the customer's trust and convenience. Hopefully someday this technology will be applied in Indonesia :)
